Are you enthusiastic about making a difference in your community and delivering exceptional customer service? We have an exciting opportunity for a Housing Options Manager to lead our Housing Options service, fulfilling statutory homelessness duties on behalf of Bromsgrove District Council under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.

 

The Role

 

This is a pivotal role where you’ll ensure the effective prevention, assessment, and relief of homelessness, while driving continuous improvement and leading a dynamic, customer-focused team.

 

You will:

 

  • Provide housing and homelessness advice to a diverse range of customers, including those with complex needs and vulnerabilities.
  • Oversee complex cases, ensuring timely and effective resolutions, including arranging emergency accommodation when required.
  • Lead strategies to prevent homelessness through early intervention and strong partnership working.
  • Manage the delivery of the homelessness contract, meeting all statutory obligations and performance targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Bromsgrove District Council, partner agencies, and support services, representing bdht at local and national forums.

 

About You

 

We’re looking for a housing professional who is:

 

  • Experienced in a customer-facing role with a solid understanding of the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and related legislation.
  • Knowledgeable about safeguarding and supporting vulnerable customers, with a commitment to equality and diversity.
  • Skilled in communication and negotiation, able to manage complex cases and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Experienced in partnership working and confident in building collaborative relationships.
  • Leadership experience in housing options or homelessness services would be an advantage.
