We have an opportunity for a Housing Options Officer to become part of a unique and important customer facing team delivering an efficient and professional housing service.
The Role
The aim of this role is to provide a comprehensive housing advice and homelessness service to our customers including assessment of need and subsequent allocation. You will liaise with other teams from across the wider business as well as with external partners and deliver the homeless contract on behalf of Bromsgrove District Council.
The Housing Options service is an ever changing service that evolves to the needs of the customers and the business so you will need to have an open minded approach as well as a positive and forward thinking mindset.
About You
Our customers are diverse and can be vulnerable so this role can be challenging. You will need to have a flexible, caring and understanding approach.
Experience of working within a customer based environment that acknowledges and understands vulnerabilities is required and you will need to have an understanding of Homeless legislation as well as experience in investigating homeless applications.
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt communication style to suit individual needs will be key to this role.
You are also required to hold a current valid driving licence and have access to an appropriately insured vehicle.
